For companies who performed well during the pandemic, multiples were equal to or better than pre-COVID levels. For companies adversely impacted by the pandemic, creative structuring was required to reset pricing and terms in order to complete the transaction. As we enter what appears to be a “k” shaped economic recovery, the market will offer a hybrid of buying opportunities in underperforming sectors and a seller’s market for strong performers.
